Launching on Thursday 4 April 2019, The Liminal is the spellbinding fourth crowd-funded album from innovative singer-songwriter and sound therapist Tallulah Rendall, which hypnotically blends the worlds of rock, electronica and healing sounds in one rich melting pot.

Co-produced with acclaimed Berlin producer Aaron Ahrends, The Liminal reflects the liminal space Tallulah draws on to create, inspired by her study and practice of sound healing and meditation, as shared in her 2016 TEDX talk Accessing Creativity through the Creation of Space Within. Drawing on her recent four-year journey of love, loss, trust and the courage to transform, the album’s collection of anthemic melodies and lyrical content was designed to inspire and heal, supported by the powerful reverberations of her gongs and Himalayan singing bowls.

Tallulah explains: “The ‘Liminal’ is an energetic, unquantifiable space which I attune to when I meditate or create. My deepening relationship with this connection has enriched my life and inspired me to believe in our human capacity to live an expansive life in harmony with ourselves, the planet we live on and each other. It is my passion to inspire and support this awakening in others through sound and creativity.

Nominated for the Woman of the Future Arts & Culture Award in 2014 and hailed as ‘Londons most creative woman by AOL, Tallulah was one of the first artists to introduce crowdfunding in 2006 with her first EP Without Time. She has since crowdfunded, released and toured three albums worldwide: Libellus (2009), Alive (2011 and The Banshee And The Moon (2014).

Celebrated by Latitude Festival for her “Voice of an angel”, she was the first musician to introduce Living Room Tours across the UK. She performed on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square as part of Antony Gormley’s One & Other project, and has played to crowds of 10,000 plus at festivals worldwide, including Glastonbury and The Secret Garden Party. She has also successfully placed music in films, including Time Fades in the number one iTunes hit Truth or Dare.

Distinct from any other artist, Tallulah releases her albums within beautiful illustrated hardcover books which come complete with lyrics, the story behind the album, and in this instance, exquisite photos by Japanese photographer Akio Fukushima which reflect the songs in their energy and essence.

Having learnt to maintain her health through a mix of Chinese medicine, acupuncture and nutrition plus training in qi gong and sound therapy, Tallulah became inspired to support the wellbeing of others, leading to the creation of her Wild Singing and creative facilitation workshops, sound journeys and one-to-one sound therapy sessions. She travels worldwide weaving her beautiful voice with guitar, drum, gongs and Himalayan singing bowls – the harmonic, crystal clear sounds reflecting the qualities and her experience of The Liminal’. Her many facilitated sound journeys in 2018 included a Sound Bath Healing Meditation at The Tate Modern in London.

A spiritual activist, Tallulah uses her music as a medium to inspire change, as demonstrated by past songs such as We Don’t Want War: written in response to the Syrian Refugee Crisis, all sales from this track were donated to Save The Children. Her new album track Holding On To Love – created in support of Standing Rock – was initially released on an album called Protectors, the proceeds from which were donated to support the medical team on the ground.
